sooo, we decided to throw a surprise 40th anniversary party for aaron parents. they thought that we were coming in for the weekend to take them out to lunch...
which we did...then we headed for home and happened to run by the church where there was a roomful of their friends and family waiting to celebrate!
they tell us they were surprised! the cake had a picture from their wedding...

the one and only time they sat in their little area! that heart was a "recreation" of one that they had in one of their wedding pictures.
some "borrowed" pictures that we happened to sneak to their basement and find and bring along!
we took pictures of all of the guests with this frame so that they would have a record of who all was there! (these are 2 of the cutest guests that i saw!)
the kids got to play their ds's because i knew that we would be running around. they did pretty well keeping busy all afternoon!
aarons dad had done a little video about his mom and had it along in the car...so, we played that too

it was a great party and we couldn't have pulled it off without a lot of help. my mom came in with us and we stashed her at a hotel so that she could help get everything ready. also dawn...a friend from the church out there...helped with so much that we couldn't do long distance. so many from the church helped with decorations and food...we couldn't have had such a great party without each of them! we got to be with family all evening and into the next day! here maisy is hanging out with her great grandma and great aunt!
we had a fun weekend!
