i can't believe it has been a year since maisy joined our family. it weny by so fast! we had her on a monday early in the morning. my mom was here with my boys and we headed to the hospital in the dark. after the usual hospital stuff, we were back in the surgery room and she arrived bright and early. there is nothing like starting a day in the dark, and then when the sun comes up you have a beautiful baby in your arms. maisy was a tiny little thing and i will never forget that when they held her up she let out the "mad cat cry"...this tiny beautiful girl with a big cry...i knew she was mine! i had worries about having a girl...i didn't know what to do with one of them, would i be a good enough mother to a girl, etc...but the minute that i saw her...i knew we were going to be just fine. she has taught me so much through my love for her...the love of a mother for her daughter...and i understand more of God's love for me. i needed her.

she melts my heart with her big blue eyed smile. i never imagined i would have a blonde haired blue eyed little girl...in my family brown hair and brown eyes are the order...maisy is a picture of her dad and her nanny!

maisy has also stolen the hearts of her daddy and her brothers.

the boys call her baby, princess, little lady, and many other girly names. they are happy to help with her, play with her, and protect her. they have taken their role as big brothers to a little lady very seriously and i am so proud of how they treat her. so, for a mom who wasn't sure how this girl thing was going to work out...i have a changed mind and a changed heart...she marched right in and changed every wrong thought that i had. i am so in love with her and i love seeing my little half pint in her pink dresses, blue pajamas, headbands, and smiles. she is a blessing and a gift. happy birthday emmaus, e-mai, maisy, mai-mai, maisy-e...so many names for her...but to me she is "my girl".
