toby aaron is about to turn 5! we had his party the night before we left for the beach. the kids were all there and wanted to know when we could get the party started! adin was watching for the last ones to arrive!
to kick off the night...we had a prayer for toby by aarons dad. then, a quick dinner (BOR-ING for the kids...but slightly more exciting since they got to use mario plates and cups!)
then it was on to the cake! since toby loves super mario brothers...he had a mario cake and "one-up" cupcakes!
finally it was gift time!!
big brother helped to "supervise" the gift opening...aka...looking for stuff he could play with too! gift time is always a good time...i love when the floor is covered and kids are having a great time!
piniatas have become a tradition at the kids parties...so, this year, we broke out the mario piniata. it had the pull strings, but we are much more into beating things...so, we handed out the bat to each of the kids and blindfolded them for 3 hits each!
and the crowd watched on...
we had to bring in "reinforcements"...noah, the oldest cousin present...got to hit the final hit! and all of the kids ran!
it was a beautiful night, so there was fun to be had for the rest of the evening! as always, toby was quite the entertainer! and the swings got a lot of use!
last, but not least, it was time for fireworks!
it was a great party! hard to believe that my little 6lb baby is now a 5 year old?! he is a great kid and we are very thankful to have him! it was a fun super mario night!
