maisy's dedication

on sunday, maisy was dedicated at our church! we bundled her all up...this was her in the car seat on the way to church...
we were first up that day, so half of my family missed the dedication...
this was her picture and name up on the big screen:
our pastor always talks about the child's name and gives them a blessing. he talked about the disciples rediscovering Jesus as they walked with him on the road to Emmaus. we had told him that our prayer for Maisy was that she would open people's eyes to seeing Jesus in a new way through her life and witness. he also noted that her nickname, Maisy, was after my grandma. her middle name, Eden, means delight...which she sure is to us...and her blessing centered around that word "delight".
after he prayed for maisy, he asked those in the congregation that were friends or family of ours...that would commit to helping us raise her...to stand and affirm their partnership with us. when you are up front, you can't see too well...but aaron's mom snapped this picture and it is such a blessing to have these people helping us as we raise our kids!
my happy little blessed chubby faced girl! she really isn't that chubby...but she was all snuggled up!
a quick family shot before we got to making lunch! this is the first picture with the FIVE of us together! i am so so SO blessed!
maisy was ready to eat before we got to making lunch...
grandma bair took her usual position...holding the baby!
we had a great lunch...made mostly by my mom. then for dessert we had a birthday cake for aaron. his birthday is thursday...but he is having hernia surgery that day...so, we thought he would enjoy the cake more before that day!
