hershey park happy
on the wednesday before thanksgiving, we take the boys to hershey park for the "candyland" fun. they have about 30 kids rides open and the park is decorated for christmas and we have found that this day is not a busy one. so, we headed out early afternoon, hit chick-fil-a and rolled in as they were opening. we had to start in chocolate world because the boys love the cows, going through the oven, and the free candy at the end. (if you haven't been there, trust me!) this was the coldest year that we remember, but it wasn't TOO horrible with long johns, double socks, double shirts, etc! i started out the day in a pair of aarons old long johns and for obvious reasons, we had to stop at ross for me to get a pair of my own on the way!
we are very impressed and thankful that hershey has a strong christian influence. they have a nativity scene as you enter as well as several references the jesus birthday throughout the park...as well as great christian songs as you ride.
aaron was "that dad" riding the kids rides. mind you, neither of them need a chaperone...he just wanted to get on too!
the kids love a character! lets hope this one has less of a criminal record than patrick from ocean city.
my motorcycle men...
thanks goodness for kind strangers that take our pictures at places like this!
we were really frozen after 2 1/2 hours...so, we headed back to chocolate world for another run through the oven and some peppermint mocha for mom and dad! adin fell asleep as soon as the car started, but toby toughed it out till we got home. a great day :)
