on saturday, the boys were a part of "salute to anatomy and physiology" at the capitol theatre. a friend of ours from church writes and produces these variety shows and was in need of more "kiddie korps" participants...so, we signed up and brought along a few friends. their only job was to learn their 3 songs and show up and sing them. doesn't sound hard, but when you have a child as unpredictable as tobias...putting him on a stage is very worrysome! this was before we left for dress rehearsal...
after a quick run through on stage (where toby visited every corner of the stage and did a running leap off at one point), we were ready to run for some fast food and to pick dad up after soccer practice and get back to the theatre for show time. i do need to mention that for the extra attention that i had to give toby, adin didn't need any...he seems to love the spotlight! he knew his songs and motions and didn't mind being up front. so, back at the theatre, we watched for first few acts until it was time for us to head up...

i was safely hidden off stage in case i needed to "make an appearance" to retrieve anyone and aaron was in the 3rd row. toby was checking out the area...

adin singing "tony chestnut" and toby checking out the piano (ensuring that everyone was doing their job)

toby taking a huge bow after their first number. as you can see, all of the kids were having a great time up there!

well, they made it though all 3 songs. adin did a wonderful job and really seems to enjoy singing. toby stayed on stage and didn't cause a scene...so, we were also happy for that. i asked if they want to do the next production and they both said "yes", so i think that we will try it again! here are the boys with their friend andrew

it was a fun night out. the only "fit" came after they were off stage and toby wanted to still be ON stage and had a melt down. so, we had to leave at intermission..

back home with their promised doughnuts and the puzzles from their happy meals. we had a nice night in for the rest of the evening...as adin was recovering from the flu, i seemed to have gotten it...so, i headed to the couch for most of the rest of the weekend.
