we did something new this year...aaron wanted to take each of the boys out and do something with just them. so, wednesday morning, aaron and adin headed out to get a ride on the "rocket"...it is a fast boat that takes you on a ride up and down the coast. well, it was closed for the day and another boat like it was full...so they ended up on the "thriller"...an even faster boat! they got doughnuts on the way and saw lots of dolphins. since toby was home with me, we took a walk and got doughnuts together and ate out on the porch, then went to a little used bookstore and found some books for him.
aaron then ran through the house and dropped off adin and picked up toby for the next ride. they were able to get on the boat like the rocket...which is a good thing because toby fell asleep about 10 blocks into the ride and slept the whole way...so, he wasn't in need of a thrill! when they got back, they had hot dogs and french fries on the boardwalk. again, since adin was home with me, we took a walk and ate at a local deli. unfortunately it was a 10 block walk and we were exhausted...but it was so fun to have the time to just talk to the boys and hear what they had to tell!
after we all got back together, we went to the pool and then cleaned up for our family night out.
we took the boys to the "crab bag"...which was one of our favorites on our honeymoon 10 years ago...we go back when we have the chance. they were just excited to have a roll of paper towels on the table and that they got to eat macaroni and cheese!
afterwards, we went to the candy store for some carefully thought out selections!
we were the first ones back to the house, so we went down to the beach for an evening out by the water. one thing that we learned...a kite will not fly without wind. so, we gave up on that quickly and just played and snapped some pictures.
