Aaron's first post on his wife's blog :) My view of the Election and our vote

Sometimes I wonder if we as Americans truly vote the issues of our lifetime or the issues of just this minute. I find it interesting that in a world of quick everything; easy credit, fast food, drive thru, ATM’s, and No interest Loans, if we truly self reflect on the Nation we have made and what long term influences our votes will make. Does our choice of a candidate who talks us into feeling like the mess we created ourselves as a nation is the only topic to gain our votes. I look back over the last several elections and each one had its hot button, health care, budget reform, National Security, War in Iraq, and now the Economy….We turn a blind eye to whatever it is that will affect generations to come for the quick, easy, fast food, drive through, no interest candidate who makes the biggest promise on the issue that in most reality is one that we inflicted upon ourselves, and one that if history shows, will right itself in 12-18 months regardless of who is in office. If we as Americans can truly look past every issue that shaped us over the 30 plus years of our lives for the hot topic of today, than we will be an active part of the moral decay of our country and have no one to blame but ourselves…if we can stop long enough to realize it.
