all in a days work
today was the day we have been waiting for with the house addition...it was time to take the roof off. we had no idea that it would come off, the 2nd floor would be added, and it would be put back on in the same day...but randy pulled it off! this process started this morning around 7:30 (i think)...me and the boys were fast asleep and aaron was up and out with the guys. this is randy hooking the crane up to the roof:
once it was secured, they were ready for lift off
i didn't get to see this, but i am assuming that they carefully lifted and the roof came right off!
the roof headed to the back yard until it was needed again
randy unhooking the roof from the crane. this was where i woke up and looked out and rallied the little troops to come watch!
they were right out of bed and ready to watch! here they are in the garage with no roof!
38 weeks pregnant, due on monday, and watching the top of my house come off?!
support beam lowered into place
floor going on. the floors and walls were built off site over the last few days and brought in on a truck...so each piece was lowered into place and it went really fast!
floor in place...then the 2nd floor piece went in behind it
aaron checking it out from inside the garage
the boys up on the roof...they would have played there all day if we would have left them!
wall pieces being delivered via crane...
adin watching intently. he was feeling a little down today with allergies, but that didn't keep him from watching everything going on. toby came and went...as always!
new laundry room location
tobys new bedroom!
top floor all in place and the roof coming back on:
back in place with no problems!
all put back together in about 5 hours!
adins room and our larger walk in closet...this is the back of the house
adin found that if he went up to our bathroom, he could watch and hear the guys. he probably spent over an hour up there watching! this window will be removed and it will be a wall of our closet...the window will move to the other wall.
