i can't do it, but God can get me through it

c-section prep with adin

ok, i hate to even admit this, but from the minute that pregnancy test turned positive, i started to worry about the c-section. i have no reason to worry, but i do. so, i have been bargaining with God that he just let me live and come back home. then our pastor decided to preach to JUST ME this sunday and talked about how worry in our life can keep us going in circles and never moving forward in our relationship with Christ or enjoying the time that we are in right now. there are 2 things that i wrote down: "We are kept from restedness in Christ by the giants we fear, the commands we ignore, and the lies we believe." also..."What measure are you using for each situation?"...obviously i can't do anything...so, if that is my measure, i am in sad shape...but God can do ANYTHING...so, if that is the measure i am using, why even worry about it?! so, while i am still not jumping up and down about another c-section...and my prayer is still that me and the baby are healthy and safe...my bigger prayer is that i can continually give this fear to God and know that nothing will happen outside of his control. i hope to walk into the hospital in february with a peace that can only be explained by knowing that God is there and is getting me through. thanks Dr Beukema for reminding me of that...and thank God that he always seems to get the message to us that we need to hear right then.
