asian murder mystery...

tonight we went to "smith night" at dan and susan martins. they decided to have over several "smiths" from our class and have a murder mystery dinner. it was asian themed and we were all given a parts last week. so, we knew who we were and what we were to wear...then we showed up in character.

aaron was the loyal driver for the murdered lady. he was an ex racecar driver that now worked on vintage cars and drove her around. he was to wear a drivers suit...with grease stains and a flask. check. i was a young chinese girl that had come over to live with the murdered lady to learn the "western ways". i was to wear a traditional chinese dress or top. this shirt was from thinh and was a vietnamese mens shirt...but close enough for me! i had gotten a dress from natalie, but it was just a little too tight...didn't want to blow out the seams or anything!we arrived and susan had the kitchen all decorated with chinese things and our chinese buffet all set up! it was a great meal...complete with a few spring rolls that we had left to bring along! so, once dinner was over, we got right to the mystery. if you have never done one of these, you read scripts and then you have to improvise some discussion with the other characters, then you listen to a tape that directs you, and then you find out who did it...
was it dan...the cook or carol...the nurse
was it dan...the retired detective or susan...the eclectic "supposed" long lost daughter
was it aaron...the driver or annette...the china girl
we did all of the parts and did our accusations...

and it was: ok, i HAD who did it here, but aaron said i should take it off in case another group from our class does this one...so, all i can say what that it was a poisioned fortune cookie!

thanks for a great night out...it was a lot of fun! where are we coming next and what is our part?!
